It is used under the name of hypo, as a fixing agent in
photography. It is also used as an antichlor to remove excess of
Chlorine from bleached fabrics. Also used in extraction of sliver and
gold by lixiviation process. Used as a preventative in sugar manufacture
as mordant in dyeing in bleaching bones, straw and ivory. As Reducing
